The scientific name of Mabe oyster is “pteria penguin”, literally meaning “wings of penguin”.
Mabe pearl oyster shell is about 25cm.
The area where the Mabe pearl oyster can be found are primarily in tropical or subtropical zones, but there are not so many better qualities which has beautiful color and high luster.
Fortunately, Mabe pearls can also be found in surrounding ocean of Amami-Ohshima, the northern limit to produce, have nacreous layer shines as rainbow.

Mabe pearl is only collect from mabe oyster.
Mabe pearl is hemispherical pearl which is a nucleus is inserted inside the oyster shell instead of directly into the oyster's gonads and cover by nacreous layer.
It takes 4-6 years by the cultivation period from collection of young oysters to produce mabe pearl.
Size about mainly 13-15mm about 10-20mm.Almost round shape also drop, triangle, square or heart shape etc. in the nucleus in shape.
And sometimes make unusual shape unlike any other in the world during cultivation period by naturally the nucleus moving, nacreous layer became too thick or two of nucleus stick together.

Mabe pearl has unique nacreous layer shines rainbow color.
They shine pale color to rose color or bluish rainbow… It has hidden of the great tase unique to mabe pearl.
